    Candice Ayala’s Upcycling Challenge

A while back, a friend of mine, whose sister owns an adorable boutique, gave me this funky pair of pants. They’ve always been just a little too tight and I’ve never quite been bold enough to wear them. I love the fun print though and have been wanting to upcycle them into something for my daughter and just haven’t gotten around to it. I came across Candice Ayala’s Upcycling Challenge on Instagram and thought it would be the perfect opportunity to get to work on turning these forgotten pants into something usable! You can read about Candice’s challenge here, but basically it’s a competition to upcycle an existing piece into…

The whole process took about an hour! Quick and easy. These soft blocks are a cute little accessory for a nursery and they make a great gift! I created my blocks using 8X8″ squares leftover from all of the crib sheets I’ve made, but you can really make them…

Friday faves – My favorite places to buy knit fabric

My last post was a tutorial on how to make your own baby leggings, SO I thought it very fitting today to share with you some of my favorite places to buy knit fabric online! I get asked this question often. I love my serger and sew primarily with knits. They are the perfect fabric for all things baby. I love to make stretchy, soft little leggings, swaddles, hats, and headbands. When I started my Etsy shop about 4 years ago, it was a challenge to scour the internet for unique and pretty knit fabric, especially if you didn’t want to pay a fortune. Over the last few years I’ve been…

(This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my privacy and disclosure statement for more info.) Leggings are a staple for my babies that I can never seem to have enough of. I love making leggings for my littles because they are SO quick and easy and it’s a good excuse to buy fabric online! So let’s start some simple DIY baby leggings! I bought this beautiful Cloud 9 knit fabric from fabric.com. One of…
